Note: after installing the ‘Subversive SVN Team Provider’ I installed the Polarian stuff, then the default connector became available.

Update: I thought it was too good to be true. I reinstalled Eclipse, and found that 'Subversive SVN Team Provider' is NOT available under Ganymede > Collaboration Tools (I'm sure it was yesterday), so I went here to get it:
http://download.eclipse.org/technology/subversive/0.7/update-site/

The the 'default' connector was available in 'preferences', but it wouldn't read my repositories.

So I installed 'Native JavaHL 1.4.5 connector', when I tried to select a connector now it reported that a required lib was missing.

So I then installed 'SVNKit 1.1.7' and it worked.

I think the connectors may be owned by Polarion who want people to know this and to have to visit their website.

Great tutorial, I had svn integrated, but then I unset windows UAC and it all vanished as did my other eclipse settings! So I had to run through it again, but this page made it far easier.

FYI - I used the 1.54 native library with the 1.7 connector and it all worked fine. I've been using Subclipse in a 3.3 install I have and this looks a little more polished. Nice!

Thanks, lack of out-of-the box SVN is frakking pitiful for an "INTEGRAGED DEV ENVIRONMENT" - They made all sorts of noise about subversion support being integrated, but it isn't, and nowhere do they provide easy to follow instructions. It's not embarrasing, it's sick....
